Welcome! My name is Elena Sexton, and I am the breeder and owner behind Platinum Dunes Maltese Kennel.

My journey in the world of dog breeding began in the mid-1990s with the Russian Toy Terrier. After moving to the United States in 2003, I took a step back from breeding to focus on adjusting to a new country and culture. During this time, I explored several professional fields, which helped me better understand and integrate into my new environment. Yet, my passion for dogs—and for breeding—never left me.

In 2009, I welcomed my first Maltese, simply as a pet. That moment marked the beginning of what would become a lifelong devotion to this extraordinary breed. In 2010, I imported my first show-quality Maltese from a reputable Russian kennel. She became the foundation of my breeding program and introduced me to the world of dog shows. She earned both her American Grand Champion (GCH) and Russian Champion (CH) titles, and in 2012, she gave me my very first litter of Maltese puppies.

Since then, I have selectively imported Maltese from exceptional lines in Korea, Japan, Ukraine, Russia, and Turkey—always seeking to combine unique expression with correct type and structure in line with FCI and AKC standards.

Today, I focus primarily on Korean bloodlines and breed on a very limited basis—no more than one or two litters per year. Each litter is thoughtfully planned. I carefully research every pedigree, and all of my breeding dogs undergo genetic and health testing required for the breed.

My dogs are raised in a clean, cage-free environment and live in my home as cherished companions. They are not just breeding dogs—they are family. Many of them have been evaluated in the show ring and recognized for their conformation, which confirms my breeding program is aligned with FCI and AKC standards and ethics.
